Attached is the initial schedule for the 2012 Season (see “Forms” tab).  This is just the initial version and there may be some revisions but hopefully not a lot.   You are well aware that the conditioning has begun.  The times have changed a bit since I was able to get the field with lights on T and TH (share w/ boys).  Please have your daughter attend as many as possible to assure she is set for the start of practices Feb 27th.  I do not expect them to attend all the conditioning but we are providing the options for them to be sure and arrive in shape on the 27th.  The Tue and Thurs nights do include a captain led throw around so the girls can get their stick skills up to speed.  WALL BALL< WALL BALL

As of today, we have 15 Varsity games and 14 JV games.  Joel and I would like to have one more varsity game but it has been hard to coordinate with other schools.  This is another very compact year and if we end up with 15 games that could benefit us down the road to the playoffs.  As we sit, there are no weeks with more than 2 games and that is a good thing.  We also have the Sunset Jamboree on Sat March 17th for both the varsity and JV.  Actual game times will be sent in follow up email.

After a lot of back and forth, it appears that we will practice at Alder Creek School from 4:30 to 6:30.  We can arrive as of 4:15.  This is a great field and I think it will work out well for us.  I am awaiting final approval from the District.  Due to the short start before games, we will look to go for 3 hours M-Th the first two weeks.

We will be holding a Registration Meeting on Monday, December 5^th, 6:00 p.m., at the Clackamas High School Commons.  We would like all girls that plan on playing this season to attend this meeting if at all possible.  There are five forms that we would like you to review, fill out, sign, and bring to the meeting with you:

1. Registration Form
2. NCSD Athletic Code of Conduct-Athletic Participation – Both players and parents review and sign
3. Lady Cavs Player Code of Conduct – Both players and parents review and sign
4. Emergency Contact Form – Parent signs
5. USLacrosse-Member (we will renew/register for you and pay fees)

The fee for lacrosse this season remains unchanged at $235 per player.  This includes the $35 fee that is paid directly to USLacrosse for membership,  which is mandatory to participate.  We would appreciate it if you could pay at the Registration Meeting, but arrangements can be made for later payment if needed.  Please note that scholarships are available; feel free to contact me for more information.  Make checks payable to “Clackamas Lady Cavs Lacrosse”.

As you are all probably aware, lacrosse is a club sport at CHS and we do not receive any funds from the school.  Fundraising is a vital part of keeping the fees as low as possible.  We have a fundraising committee that will be making a presentation at the Registration Meeting, but it is imperative that all are involved in the fundraising efforts.  If you are not willing to assist in the fundraising efforts, you have the option of paying an additional $100 fee.  This will be discussed further at the Registration Meeting.

Coach Ned works tirelessly to prepare our girls, and the best way that the parents can support both Ned and the team is by volunteering.  As you will note on the roster, many of the parents have already volunteered, but we are in need of additional volunteers.  There are still openings for V.P. on the board, stats, spotters (aids the stats person), timer on the field, game day carpool coordinator, and fundraising.  If you are interested in volunteering, please indicate on your registration form what position you are interested in.  Successful programs have a common thread of parental involvement, and we appreciate your efforts to help our program succeed.

Players – Please, please, please recruit friends and classmates that you think may be interested in playing lacrosse.  With illnesses and injuries last year, there were games that we were a bit short handed.  With the graduated seniors gone, we need to replace them and more.  You all know what a great game this is and how much fun you have, so we would ask that you pass your experiences along and encourage anyone who seems interested to consider playing this year.  Anyone who is interested is welcome to attend the Registration Meeting.

At the Registration Meeting we will also be discussing sports physicals and uniforms.  Physical examinations are required every two years, so they are required for all freshmen, juniors, and new players regardless of year.  If you had a physical exam for another sport, it is not necessary to have another one.  Uniforms will be distributed in the next month or two, and will require a $45 deposit.  The deposit will be returned when uniforms are turned in clean and undamaged.  Forms for physical exams and uniform agreements will be distributed at the Registration Meeting.
